Twist again, like we did last summer

And then back inside for a rousing game of twister, some hot cocoa and a holiday DVD-- before saying goodbye to our dear friends.

And then to the snow!!

Nothing beats a break from cookie making like a romp in the snow!!

Cookie Monsters!

Aunts Susan and D (with cousins Teagan and Rowan!!)came to visit us and helped us throw a wonderful cookie making holiday party! We all had a blast decorating cookies and then decorating gift boxes to put the cookies in. Good times with good friends--- we never get enough.

My Name is Sue, how do you do?

Auntie Susan came to visit us for the weekend. She should come here more often. We had a great time baking cookies, playing games and such....

Please, Mr. Postman

We visited the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History at Regis College (http://www.spellman.org/) for a fun day of stamp related crafts and games. Who knows where we'll find our fun next?

Santa Claus is Coming To Town!

St. Nick paid an early visit to Peterborough, so we all bundled up to see him arrive! It proved a chilly but fun evening for Avery, Jack and Avery's friend Marina.

Playtime!

Avery and Jack having a great afternoon.

Catch me if you can!

Jack is quick as a bunny. You've got to be fast on your toes if you want to keep up with him.

Tug of War!!

As Jack gets more stable sitting up, he gets more interactive with everyone in the family. Here he wrestles with Molly, one of his best friends.

Baby Proof

From an online Baby Site:

"Consider keeping one or two low cabinets full of baby-safe objects such as toys, board books, and stacking plastic storage containers. They'll help quench your little one's curiosity while offering practice in taking objects out and putting them back in."
Frankly, I have had enough practice already in putting the stuff back into the cabinets....

Crawl Achieved

Then he made his way to the hallway. A proud moment!

Learning to Crawl

Jack has reached an exciting milestone this week as he learned to really move from place to place. He now spends his whole day exploring his more expansive world. It has really changed things around here! Here he is getting into his squat position, which he practiced for several days before making his move...

LB - Little Bluebird

The tales of Jack's charms will be long indeed. This boy can literally stop a restaurant during morning service so that the workers can admire his large smile and good looks. Not to brag! It's just the gosh darn truth. 'Nough said.

Washington D.C., Baby!

Day one of our trip to D.C. featured a free chocolate chip cookie that was bigger then all of our heads! We received this edible delight thanks to the charms of Little Bluebird, Jack. The hotel stay that night was tons of fun since Thom and Avery got to horse around in the indoor pool. The next day, we arrived in D.C. (technically, Pentagon City in Arlington, VA) where we stayed with Thom's sister Barbara and his niece, Grace. Our first full day of the D.C. area, we made a trip to the National Zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo bit the big one. If not for the adorable pandas, it would have been a very dismal outing indeed. Hot sun, long paths to nowhere, only one exit on the other side of an incredibly steep incline, no food options for vegetarians, etc. Just ugh all around. But ever the troopers, we quickly recovered and had a great time with our other adventures. These include hanging with Salina, an old high school buddy, and Susan, our dear old college pal. The trip came to a close with a typical visit to Bloomfield where Jack and Aves got to spend some time with the Hemeleski clan.
